Design and execution
This social housing Project is an alternative to the closed block. It is proposed as an edificatory system not as a singular building, and thus it is adaptable to a great diversity of locations, volumetrics and sizes. The building, that looks like a slat building, intercalates 30 constructed volumes and 30 voids. The volumes contains the houses, of two and three bedrooms as well as studios. Every house has an additional room, the exterior room as a transition between the house and the patio, conceived as spaces for neighbours enjoyment opened to the visions and perspectives in every directions. The birds, the wind and the sun traverse the building. The total mould system is used, resulting in a sustainable and quick construction.
We have created the perforated block. The idea derives from the Corbusier’s villa designed in the twenties, applied to the neighborhood, converting the closed block into a permeable lattice. The closed block becomes a permeable slat. Both from the street and the house the views cross through the suspended gardens incorporating the green interior and the city and mountains in the far horizon.
